The city of love’, Agra or Akbarabad as it was known in the Golden era of the city was home to most of the mogul emperors at some point in their life and each left his mark on the city.  Akbar built the main Red Fort, Jehengir the gardens and Sharjahan added the marble sections including the magnificent Taj Mahal. This era lasted until the rein of the last great Mogul Aurangzeb, who finally moved the capital to Aurangabad in 1653.


The final resting place of Akbar the great, arguably the greatest Mugul emperor.  His tomb is situated on the Delhi –Agra highway and incorporates a deer park.

Taj Mahal

The history of the Taj Mahal tells a tragic story of love and sibling rivalry.  Shah Jahan’s Mausoleum for his favourite wife Mumtaz Mahal, who died giving birth to their 14th child in 1631.

Agra Red Fort –

An architecturally impressive fort, which housed three generations of Mogul emperors. For much of the mogul rule the country was governed from this building.

Tour itinerary

6.15am -6.30am Pick up from Hotel

6.45am set off for Agra with a stop enroute for breakfast.

10.45am Approx arrive in Agra meet the guide at Sikandra.

11.45am – 13.30pm Visit with Guide the Taj Mahal

13.30pm-14.15pm Lunch

14.30-16.30pm guided visit to the Red fort

16.30-17.30pm Craft and art demonstrations
